Obituary: Richard Edward Spells, 69 of Climax, MI Sadly left us after a battle with cancer. Rick was born to Doris Lingg, and Errol Spells July 28th 1953. Both of them preceded him in death. Rick leaves behind his significant other, Janet VanPatten. His brothers Stephen Spells, Martin Lingg, sisters Kristy Inabnit, Pamela Adams, and Michelle Lingg. Rick was a proud father of Alissa Spells, Richard Spells II (Heather Spells), Lieran Richert (Kyle Richert), and Sean Spells, and a grandfather of 5 grandsons, 6 granddaughters, and 4 great-grandchildren. Rick had many accomplishments. He graduated from Battle Creek Central High School, then joined the US Marines. Rick loved being outdoors, fishing and hunting. Rick also loved puffing cigars with his friends and enjoying spirits. There will be a service held at Fort Custer National Cemetery on Monday October 10th at 11:30am.
